18: Driving Force of Compassion

Compassion for another person is a very powerful emotion. It is a divine emotion, up there with divine love.

It is hard to talk about divine grace without talking about divine compassion. One leads to the other.

Divine compassion is what opens the bowels of mercy, and propels the Heavens to act in showering down grace and miracles.

As we show grace to others (usually as a result of feeling compassion which makes the act of service even that much more meaningful), the Heavens can’t help but feel divine compassion for us (since we are acting to bring about what they value the most, the saving of souls, or the magnifying of their jewels), and consequently, through feelings of divine compassion, they are compelled to reach down and to lift us up.

From a certain perspective, when all elements of the circle are in place, feelings of compassion for our Heavenly Father’s children on our end usually lead to act of grace as we lift and serve them, which in turn leads to the Heavens feeling divine compassion for us for serving His beloved children, which opens the bowels of mercy, and the outpouring of divine grace upon ourselves (and as we ourselves are lifted up and become more and more like our Heavenly Parents, we develop an increased measure of feeling compassion and charity for all around us, which compassion causes us to act more frequently and more deeply, and hence the divine circle of grace increases in frequency and intensity).
