In a day and age of mass media, followers, and influencers, it is instructive to observe that although Jesus has been known to teach to the crowds (feeding of the 5000), He always ministered to the one.
We ourselves do not need to get bent out of shape by comparing ourselves to others, and other people’s accomplishments.
What matters to our Father in Heaven is the one.
Each soul has infinite value. We are each one of His jewels. Saving a single soul will bring infinite joy in the kingdom of our Father.
Much of our life experience will seem drab and mundane. But godly service will often involve the drab and the mundane. Service in the church or the family might seam routine, and it might seem that our efforts do not matter. But they do. They matter on an infinite level.
It needs to be remembered that Christ heals us one by one, as if we are the only person in the whole entire world that exists or even matters.

Notes:
(1) Followers, likes, status, etc is more about selfishness and pride. Influencers are more concerned about the comparison to other influencers in a race to being better. When we minister to the one, we are coming from a place of selflessness. It isn’t about us. It is about them. It is genuine. It is real. It has the blessing of Heaven.
(2) When it comes to followers, likes, status, etc … Matthew 6:2-4 might be instructive. “Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not they left hand know what they right hand doth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.” In short, when we attempt to bring fame and glory to ourselves, we already have our reward. When we reach down and play on the Lord’s team by serving and lifting others, we ourselves are served and lifted by the Heavens.
(3) Abinadi serves as a prime example of ministering to the one. He gave his life so that Alma might have a renewed spiritual life. He had no idea that his efforts mattered. He died not knowing the impact his actions had. However in retrospect, his actions and acts of grace is the hinge point in the history of a branch of Israel. All that happened that was good was dependent upon his selfless actions. He truly played on the Lord’s team. He gave his life playing on the Lord’s team. He had no idea that his lift even mattered, but to the Father, it mattered beyond measure.
